VAULT
(Mal) - Raging Force - MC
Review from Nihilistic Holocaust:
VAULT
might play decent thrash depending on your standards of neck-aggression,
but I don't know if many metallers will break their bones with this tape
Demo. The music is ok old styled thrash, that could be situated between
early Bay area and old German assaults; It can be listened, but nothing
special or emotionally soarprizing occurs. (Some DESTRUCTION alike riffs
are nicely done, though). The guitars are generally riffing a common old
way, generally too common in my hears because: Why would I choose to play
the VAULT tape while there's already a pile of good thrashing tapes in front
of me? Some riffs wouldn't be too far from an old Crustcore approach, while
some speed metal à la old MOTORHEAD/ early BATHORY can be found, but it's
generally thrashing. Conclusion: This is average but listenable underground
thrash that might please big fans of the style... But I need more than usual
headbanging to break my bones anymore...Also oppress me mentally!!
Review
from Thrash Attack (Ger) #4:
Finally I received the first demo by this Malaysian monster!
It's the second band of members of Antacid that Sen Nightcrawler mentioned
in the interview in #3. I tell you something! It's damn fucking cool shit!
I think I even like it a bit more than Antacid. It's not that brutal, uncompromising
thrash, but has a great dose of speed metal to it and the singer fits very
well. He's not too raw, but very understandable and has a cool voice. The
songs are fast and throat slashing, yet they have really catchy melodies!
Just as Antacid they've written one song that's very Metalucifer like: "Nuclear
Aggressor". Especially the chorus. The demo consists of 5 songs: the
title track, the just mentioned "N.A.", "Bastard" (nice
and "difficult" chorus), "Black Leather Cult" and "Riot
Bomb". the layout of the tape is cool as usual for Final Punishment
releases.
